Bowl of Light
In this art and SEL-integrated lesson, students will engage in a mindful storytelling experience based on the Hawaiian tale of the Bowl of Light. Through guided visualization, they’ll reflect on the light within themselves symbolizing their strengths, emotions, and inner potential. Students will then sculpt their own “bowl of light” using Model Magic, using color, shape, and texture to express their unique inner glow. The lesson fosters self-awareness, emotional expression, and creative exploration while supporting SEL and visual arts standards.
